All six July 1 observations belong to Census PEP Vintage 2025. Long CSV puts each geography/year in its own row. Wide CSV puts one geography in each row with six population columns. JSON includes normalized records and supported change components.

A separate national/state/DC collection with 624 census-year observations. Original census counts retain their historical geographic definitions; they are not July annual estimates.

Data dictionary, citation and reproducibility
Keep the data dictionary, citation text, README and SHA-256 checksums with the downloaded observations. Every released file identifies its source product, date, measurement type and snapshot. The original Census CSVs are included in the research bundle.
Import official geographic codes as text in spreadsheets to preserve leading zeros. Quoted CSV fields do not prevent every spreadsheet from treating a code as a number. Blank uncertainty fields mean no source margin was supplied; they do not mean zero uncertainty.
Profile downloads contain the selected place's six annual observations. Ranking and directory exports contain the visible filtered page. For every row in a geographic level, choose its full dataset above. Versioned snapshot pep-2025-r1 remains fixed when a later release is published; the region view has its own version, regions-v1, and source notes.
