What changed in this release?
This is the initial snapshot, covering 22,675 population profiles. It selects national, state/DC, county-equivalent and active whole incorporated-place observations, retains six annual totals from a single vintage and joins compatible 2025 land-area records. County/place-part records establish relationships without being added as separate whole-city totals.
The publication also packages census-history-r1, a separate 1910–2020 national/state/DC census-count collection. These historical counts retain source definitions and are not inserted into the July annual estimates line. No projected values, ACS characteristics or invented city migration values were added.
Validation and limitations
Validation checks unique registry IDs and canonical routes, six nonnegative annual observations, state plus DC sums against national controls, exhaustive county totals against state controls, births minus deaths against natural change, and published component reconciliation including residuals. Profile, chart, ranking, comparison and export values derive from the same normalized snapshot.
Land-area joins use official codes. Missing areas suppress density. Balance records are labeled and excluded from ordinary-place rankings. The source files do not supply ACS-style margins of error for these totals. Validation does not establish that an estimate is an exact census count or that a descriptive change proves a causal explanation.

Check the Census schedule monthly. Ingest a new vintage into a new immutable snapshot, review flags and geographic changes, then publish one complete built release. Roll back by restoring the prior complete deployment; do not mix partly updated data files and pages. Report errors through the corrections channel.
