What changed in the Northeast population?
The region added 101,532 residents in the July 2024–2025 interval. Natural change was +59,573, calculated as 572,507 births minus 512,934 deaths. Published net domestic migration was -205,552 and net international migration was +246,382.
The source residual of +1,129 completes the change accounting: natural change plus net domestic migration plus net international migration plus residual equals +101,532. Domestic moves within the region cancel in its net total; the regional figure therefore differs from a sum of gross arrivals into every member state. These components do not establish why residents moved.
